Glamour Shots

So...I said I'd post some pictures from the hospital, and here they are. Prepare to feel very, very (very) sorry for me. But, don't worry too much; keep in mind that I've been home for several days and am looking significantly better now.

First, we have Philly and me, while I'm waiting in the pre-surgery room. I'm not sure whether I've been given the "relaxing drugs" at this point, but I sure do look awfully happy to be having my jaws broken in about 57 different places! Also, this is definitely my best angle.






And here I am, about eight hours later. After waiting through four-and-a-half hours of surgery and about three-and-a-half hours of recovery, Philly has finally gotten to see her girl. Naturally, she brought the camera. Oh, and apparently, the sight of me in this state "got to her," because, as soon as "Visiting Time" was over, she promptly went to a restroom and puked. Niiiiiice.






Pretty pitiful, huh. Could there be any more stuff attached to my face? All I can say is, thank God for morphine.

This last one is a shot of me the next morning, and as you can see, I've really never looked lovelier. Some of the scary face stuff is gone, but I'm holding up my arm, so you can see that, yes, I'm still quite pitiful. And, God, if only my lips were that full naturally. Angelina Jolie wouldn't have nuthin' on me.






And that's the worst of it. I'm not going to post any current pictures, because they're not nearly as pitiful as these and are instead kind of icky. Those bandages on my chin made my skin break out a bit, and my face and neck have turned a very springy shade of green (from bruising). But, if all goes well, I should be able to post some "after" pics in a few weeks.

Let's all cross our fingers that I don't turn out looking like a freakin' Muppet when it's all said and done. (Kermit, perhaps? Hey, it's not EASY being green!)
