So, now that I'm finally getting settled into my new place, I am becoming very aware of the things I don't have, which (so far) include:
1. A vacuum cleaner;
2. Things to hang on the wall (or at least not things that I should hang on the wall...for instance, my 48x60-inch cloth poster of Bob Marley smoking a joint was awesome in college...maybe not so appropriate now);
3. Pots and pans (I think I have a grand total of three pots);
4. A blender (something no residence should be without...how am I supposed to make frozen drinks???); and
5. Any food, whatsoever. I did go to the grocery store once, but that was only for Essentials (toilet paper, trash bags, beer). I also bought some ketchup (for me) and some Ranch dressing (for Babe), so basically, my fridge looks like it belongs in a Bachelor Pad. Beer, condiments, and some leftover chicken wings. Niiiiice.
Anyhoo, because I am utterly incapable of picking out decent artwork (or ties, for that matter...I really can't pick out men's ties), I have decided to start a mini-collection of rock and roll albums (LPs), which I will hang on the wall in my living room and call "Art." I did this once before, when I lived with LaToya; however, back then, I just took nine of my parents' albums, some of which probably weren't wall-worthy, and hung them on the wall in a Brady Bunch-esque design (three rows of three). It actually looked pretty cool.
Nevertheless, this time around, I'm aiming for a more refined collection, and I got a great start on that collection today, when I bought (on Ebay, of course) what is arguably one of the best album covers of all time, The Rolling Stones's Sticky Fingers. I've been wanting this one for awhile, so I'm pretty excited. Among some of the others I'm hoping to find:
The Beatles, Abbey Road;
The Doors, The Doors;
U2, The Joshua Tree;
The Police, Synchronicity; and
Guns N' Roses, Appetite for Destruction.
I already have Hotel California (The Eagles), Rumours (Fleetwood Mac), and Born to Run (Bruce Springsteen), which are wall-worthy simply because they're pretty much always near the top of those Greatest Albums of All Time lists. I might also hang up Thriller, which isn't technically "rock and roll," but is a pretty damn solid album and probably deserves to go on the wall. Anyone have any other suggestions for my Wall o' Rock? (And, yes, I'm expecting the obligatory Dark Side of the Moon suggestion. Which I probably won't heed.)

My main squeeze, Larry, looks really hot on The Joshua Tree album cover. ;) Good choice.
I think a Bee Gees' LP would be great for you.. particularly this one or this one!
